Domain - wall fermions with U ( 1 ) dynamical gauge fields in ( 4 + 1 ) - dimensions ∗

چکیده
We carry out a numerical simulation of a domain-wall model in (4+1) dimensions, in the presence of a quenched U(1) dynamical gauge field only in an extra dimension, corresponding to the weak coupling limit of a (4-dimensional) physical gauge coupling. Our numerical data suggest that the zero mode seems absent in the symmetric phase, so that it is difficult to construct a lattice chiral gauge theory in the continuum limit.

Perturbative study for domain-wall fermions in 4+1 dimensions.
We investigate a U(1) chiral gauge model in 4+1 dimensions formulated on the lattice via the domain-wall method. We calculate an effective action for smooth background gauge fields at a fermion one loop level. From this calculation we discuss properties of the resulting 4 dimensional theory, such as gauge invariance of 2 point functions, gauge anomalies and an anomaly in the fermion number curr...
متن کاملDomain-wall fermions with U(1) dynamical gauge fields.
We have carried out a numerical simulation of a domain-wall model in (2+1)dimensions, in the presence of a dynamical gauge field only in an extra dimension, corresponding to the weak coupling limit of a ( 2-dimensional ) physical gauge coupling. Using a quenched approximation we have investigated this model at βs(= 1/g 2 s ) = 0.5 ( “symmetric” phase), 1.0, and 5.0 (“broken” phase), where gs is...
متن کاملElectromagnetic properties of hadrons with two flavors of dynamical domain wall fermions
We present the determination of the light quark masses using electromagnetic splittings of pions and kaons. The meson masses are calculated on SU(3)×U(1) gauge configurations, where SU(3) gauge fields include sea quark effects of two degenerate flavors and the U(1) gauge fields are incorporated in non-compact form. Possible sources of systematic uncertainty are discussed. Electromagnetic proper...

متن کاملRough Gauge Fields, Smearing and Domain Wall Fermions
At a fixed lattice spacing, as determined by say mρ, adding additional fermion flavors to a dynamical simulation produces rougher gauge field configurations at the lattice scale. For domain wall fermions, these rough configurations lead to larger residual chiral symmetry breaking and larger values for the residual masses, mres. We discuss ongoing attempts to reduce chiral symmetry breaking for ...
